It started out small here in Raja Bazar. Nasir Khan set things up at Khansamanpura and we've been at it since. Most days we are out on sites. It's dusty work but someone has to do it. We handle a lot of local building projects around here. My cousin helps with the supplies. Sometimes we struggle with the weather, especially when the rain hits Patna hard and everything turns to mud. We don't have a big office with fancy chairs. Just a desk and some old files. People walk in and ask about cement or bricks. We tell them what we know. It's just a regular business. We try to keep the trucks running and the workers busy. Sometimes the paperwork gets backed up. Nasir spends a lot of time on the phone. We've seen the neighborhood change a lot over the years. More houses going up every month. We just keep our heads down and work. It isn't always easy. Dealing with suppliers takes a lot of patience. We have lunch together near the site. Simple food. We talk about the next job or how the road is getting crowded. That's just how it is here. We aren't trying to be the biggest company around. Just want to finish the jobs we have and get home. It’s been a long journey from when we first opened the doors in this part of town. Every brick we lay feels like progress for us and the people living here.
