Elegance Parlour.

Elegance Parlour is tucked away inside Baba Hans Palace, which is at the Gosai Tola More in the Patliputra area of Patna. We are quite close to the Patliputra Thana, so you can often hear the sirens or the noise from the station nearby. The building is one of those older ones that has a lot of character. I’ve had the parlour here for a while now. It’s mostly women from the surrounding apartments who come in for their regular stuff. We do hair cutting, some basic skin care, and bridal dressing when it’s the season for it. The room is painted a light color to make it feel bigger than it actually is. Sometimes the electricity goes out in this part of Patna, so we keep a few candles and a rechargeable lamp ready just in case. I try to keep the place clean, but with people coming in and out all day, it’s a constant job. The mirrors have some spots on the edges where the silver is fading, but they still show you what you need to see. Most of my customers like to chat about their kids or what they are cooking for dinner. It makes the day go by faster when there is good conversation. We are not a big chain, just a local spot where you can get your hair done. I usually keep some old magazines on the side table for waiting husbands.
