Satnam Rice & General Mill

Our mill is located right on Sirhind Road, just across from the Geeta Petrol Pump. We’re actually at House No-48 in Ghuman Nagar. It’s an interesting spot because we’re close to the road but also near the houses. People know us as the place where the rice gets processed. It’s a family-run operation. We don’t have a lot of fancy equipment, just the stuff that works. The yard is usually full of bags waiting to be moved. We do a bit of general milling too, so the variety keeps things interesting. Some days it’s just me and my son working the machines. We’ve learned to listen to the sounds they make. If a bearing is going, we usually hear it before it breaks. It’s a lot of physical labor, lifting those heavy sacks all day. My knees aren't what they used to be, but the work has to be done. We don't bother with marketing or big advertisements. Most people around Ghuman Nagar just know who we are because we’ve been here for years. We see the same faces every week. It’s a simple routine. We start early, finish late, and try to keep the dust out of the living room as much as possible. It’s messy and it’s loud, but it is our livelihood and we are okay with that.
