Working out of Harbans Singh And Sons in Dharmpura Bazar is an experience because the market is always so loud and full of life. At Pimagu Foods, we are right in the middle of all that chaos. We deal with food products, mostly bulk items that come in big sacks. Every morning, we have to move things around to make space for the new deliveries. The bazaar has its own rhythm, and we are just a small part of it. The shop is old, with high ceilings and shelves that reach all the way up. We use ladders a lot, and you have to be careful not to trip over the bags of rice or pulses sitting on the floor. It is not a clean, modern supermarket vibe at all. It smells like earth and dried goods. Customers come in and out all day, and we spend a lot of time weighing things out and tying up bags with twine. The floor is made of old stone that has worn down over the years from all the foot traffic. We don't really have a break room, so we just eat our lunch sitting on the crates in the back. By the time we close the shutters at night, our backs are usually aching from all the lifting, but that is just part of being in the food business in a place like Dharmpura.
