Sahni Rice Mills

We are located at 112 Ghuman Nagar, right off the Sirhind Road. Sahni Rice Mills has been here for a good number of years now. It’s a busy place, especially during the harvest season when trucks are coming in and out all day long. We spend most of our time out on the floor making sure the hulling is done right. It is definitely not a quiet job. The mill feels like our second home. We started small with just a couple of machines and just kept at it over the years. There are days when the power goes out and everything stops, which is a real headache for everyone involved. But we manage to get things moving again eventually. Sirhind Road gets a lot of traffic, so we see many people passing by our gates every day. We don’t really do any big advertising or anything like that. People in the area just know where we are in Ghuman Nagar. The rice comes in from the local fields and we process it as fast as we can. It’s a lot of lifting and moving heavy sacks around from one side to the other. By the end of the day, we are usually covered in grain dust and ready to head home to rest. We just try to do a decent job and get the rice out to the local markets. It’s hard work, but it’s what we know how to do. Our family has been here for a while.
