Mohan Lal & Sons

Mohan Lal & Sons has been operating out of Abchal Nagar in the factory area for quite some time. It’s a rough and tumble part of the neighborhood where everyone is making something or hauling something. Our building is a basic structure with a heavy metal shutter that we roll up every morning at eight. The air is usually thick with the smell of the nearby factories, and there’s a layer of fine dust on everything by noon. We’ve got a mix of old machines and some newer ones, and they all have their own quirks that only we really understand. It’s a family-run kind of thing, so there’s always someone around who remembers how we did things twenty years ago. We don’t bother with fancy offices; we just have a small desk in the corner for the paperwork. Most of the day is spent on the floor, making sure the production is moving along like it should. When it rains, the sound on the corrugated roof is so loud we can't even hear the phones ringing. We usually take our break around two and sit outside if it isn't too hot. It’s a lot of physical work and our hands are usually stained with grease or ink. We just focus on getting the orders out to the people who need them. It’s a plain, honest living in a busy part of the Abchal Nagar factory district.
