G. K. Tools Industries

If you head down Sangrur Road in Patran, you will find us at G. K. Works. We have been making tools here for G. K. Tools Industries for years. The floor is usually covered in metal shavings and there is always that smell of machine oil in the air. It is not the cleanest place in Patiala but it is where the work happens. We have got some old machines that still run better than the new ones we bought recently. My father started this and now I spend most of my time making sure the cutters and grinders are doing what they are supposed to. Sometimes we get a custom order that takes all day to figure out, and other times we are just making the same parts over and over. It gets quite hot in the summer, especially when all the motors are running at once. We take our tea breaks outside by the road just to get some fresh air. People from the nearby farms and workshops come to us when they need something fixed or a specific tool made for their gear. We don't have a big sales team or anything. Most of our customers have been coming here since I was a kid. It is just a solid place where we put in the hours and try to make things that last longer than the cheap stuff you see nowadays. The work is hard on the back but we are used to it.
