Hind Rice Mills

Hind Rice Mills is located out on Rajla Road in Samana. It’s a bit away from the main town center, which is nice because we have a bit more space for the trucks. The road gets a lot of sun, and it can get really hot in the middle of the day. We have a small shaded area where we sit during our breaks. The mill is a large space filled with bags of rice stacked up high. We have to be careful how we stack them so they don't tip over. It’s happened once or twice before. Working in Samana is good. It’s a place where everyone knows everyone else’s business. We have a few steady workers who have been with us for a long time. They know the machines better than I do. We don't really use computers for much, just a ledger book to keep track of what comes in and what goes out. It’s easier that way for us. Sometimes the rain makes it hard to dry the grain, so we have to watch the weather reports closely. We just take things as they come. No point in stressing too much about things you can’t change. We just keep the mill running as best as we can every day on Rajla Road. It's a quiet life but we like it.
