Hari Har Rice Mills

Hari Har Rice Mills is found in Badson, right on the Patiala Road. It is a decent spot because the road is wide enough for the big trucks to pull in and out without causing too much of a traffic jam. Being on Patiala Road means we are connected to the bigger trade routes, which is helpful. The mill in Badson is a straightforward place. We have the cleaning area, the milling section, and the storage sheds. It is all very practical and focused on the task at hand. There aren’t many frills here. The walls are a bit stained from the years of use and the yard has some patches of grass growing where the trucks don't drive. We have a small staff of local folks from Badson and the surrounding areas. We all know each other’s families and what’s going on in the town. It’s a bit like a second home for most of us because we spend so many hours here. The sound of the rice hitting the metal chutes is something you hear in your sleep after a long shift. We just keep our heads down and handle the grain as it comes. It’s not about being the biggest or anything like that. We are just Hari Har Rice Mills, and we’ve been on this patch of Patiala Road for a long time now. It’s just what we do.
