Doaba Rice Mills

Our mill is located on Samana Road in Badhshahpur. It's a place where you'll always find someone working, even when it's late. We deal with a lot of rice, as the name suggests. The site is usually humming with the sound of the dryers. When it rains, things get a bit messy in the yard, but that’s just life at a mill. We have a lot of space for storage because the harvest comes in all at once and we have to put it somewhere or it’ll rot. The workers here are mostly from the nearby villages. We aren't big on paperwork; we’d rather be out seeing what's happening on the floor. The trucks come in from the surrounding farms and it’s our job to get everything sorted. It’s a lot of physical labor, lifting bags and moving pallets around. We don't use a lot of fancy words to describe what we do. We just mill rice. It’s what we’ve always done for a long time. Some seasons are better than others depending on the weather, but we just take it as it comes. You won't find any glossy brochures here. If you want to talk to us, you just come by the gate and ask. We’re usually there near the scales. It’s a loud, busy, and sometimes tiring place, but it’s our place. The tea is always hot in the small shack near the entrance for anyone who stops by.
