Mar Thoma Residential School

Mar Thoma Residential School is located in Tiruvalla, specifically at Muthoor, near the R S Post Office. Since we are a residential school, the place never really sleeps. There are always kids around, even after the classes are over for the day. The campus at P B No 1 is quite large, and it has to be because it’s basically a second home for many of the students. We have the dorms and the dining hall, and then the main school buildings where the actual teaching happens. It’s a bit of a walk from one end to the other, which keeps everyone active. The vibe here is different from a day school because the students and staff really live together. You see them playing on the fields in the evenings or studying in groups in the common areas. It’s not a polished, corporate environment; it’s more like a big, busy household. The buildings have been standing for years, and they show a bit of wear and tear, but that’s just because they are used so much. We focus on the daily routine—breakfast, assembly, classes, lunch, more classes, and then some tea. It’s a steady rhythm that everyone gets used to. People come from all over to stay here, and we just try to keep things running without too much fuss so they can do their studies. We see the kids through the whole year, and it's always quiet when they finally go home for holidays.
