Evershine Residential School

Evershine Residential School is tucked away in Makkamkunnu. If you are from the Pathanamthitta area, you probably know the Makkankunnu neighborhood. It’s a quiet place, which is good for a school where students also live. We have been here for a while now. The building is large enough for the kids and the staff. It’s not like those shiny new schools you see in the big cities. We have a more lived-in feel. There’s always laundry drying somewhere or kids running around the yard during their break time. We manage everything ourselves, from the meals to the classes. It’s a lot of work but we have a rhythm to it now. Parents from around Pathanamthitta trust us because we’ve been part of the community for so long. We don't use big fancy words to describe what we do. We just teach the kids and make sure they are safe and fed. The rooms are basic but comfortable enough. Sometimes the plumbing acts up or we need to repaint a wall, but we just get it done ourselves. It’s a real place with real people. We aren't a big chain of schools. We are just Evershine, right here in Makkamkunnu. We like the quiet life here and the kids seem to enjoy it too. It’s just a regular school doing its thing every day. We focus on the day to day tasks and keeping the children happy while they learn.
