Soilmate Farmers Producer Company

Soilmate Farmers Producer Company is located in the village of Asoke Polli, in the Belda area of Paschim Medinipur. We work out of Kartik Maity’s house, which serves as our main office. It’s a very modest setup, just a room with some basic furniture where we keep all our records. Being in Paschim Medinipur means we are surrounded by farms, so we are always in touch with what’s happening in the fields. We started this producer company to bring the local farmers together. Most of our days are spent talking to people from the village about their needs and their crops. We don't have any corporate training or a fancy way of speaking. We just talk like the neighbors we are. The post office in Belda is where we handle all our mail, and it’s a short trip from Asoke Polli. It’s a quiet life here, but it can get very busy during the harvest season. We chose the name Soilmate because it felt right for people who work with the earth every day. We aren't looking to grow into a massive corporation with polished offices. We just want to stay here in the village and do what we can for the local community. It’s simple work and we handle it in a simple way. If you come by, you’ll see we are just regular folks doing our best with the resources we have. It’s a practical, local operation through and through.
