Lowada Flower Farmers Producer Companylimited is based in a place called Dabadari, which is right in the Lowada area of Paschim Medinipur. If you look at the land records, we are on Khotian No-53/1 and J.L No-159. It sounds very official when you say it like that, but in reality, it’s just a group of us working with the local flower growers. The area is mostly about the fields, and our little office is right in the middle of it all. We don’t have a fancy lobby or anything; it’s mostly just a spot where we can sit down and talk about the flower markets and the prices. Being flower farmers ourselves, we know how much work goes into every single bloom. Some days are really long, especially when we have to get things ready for transport while the flowers are still fresh. The air around here usually smells pretty good, which is a nice perk of the job. We have people coming in and out all day, mostly locals from the nearby villages. It’s a simple life, focused on the soil and the seasons. We aren’t trying to be some massive corporation; we just want to make sure the farmers in Lowada have a place to organize their work and get things done together. It’s a lot of paperwork sometimes, but we get through it. The seasons dictate how busy we are from week to week.
