Jayshri Krushi Agro Farmer Producer Company Limited is run by a group of us here in Kerwadi, Tq. Palam. Our main office is actually at Ramrao Gangadharrao Jadhav’s house, number 594. Being in the Parbhani district, we are very familiar with the challenges of farming in this region. The sun is hot, the work is physical, and sometimes the rewards are small. We started this company because we wanted to have a better way to handle our agricultural business. Instead of every farmer going their own way, we try to coordinate things a little. We spend our time checking on the crops and meeting up to talk about what’s happening in the markets. It’s not a fancy operation at all. It’s just a few rooms where we keep our books and talk about the harvest. We aren't experts in marketing or anything like that; we just know what it takes to grow things in this soil. Sometimes we have long debates about the best time to plant or which fertilizers are actually worth the money. It’s all very informal and personal. Most of us have lived in Kerwadi our whole lives, so we are more like a big family than a business. We just want to make sure the farming community here stays strong and that we can keep our land productive for the next generation.
