RAVINDER KUMAR

This is Ravinder Kumar’s place out in Vpo Rajapur in Panipat. We are right in the middle of Haryana, so the weather really dictates how our day goes. When it’s winter, we start a bit later because of the fog, and in summer, we try to get most things done before the afternoon sun gets too high. The business is run right from here in the village area. It’s a very local operation. We don’t have a big corporate structure or anything like that. Most of the people working here are from the nearby houses. We deal with whatever work comes our way, mostly stuff that keeps the local economy moving. The space is basically a large shed with enough room for our equipment and a place to store materials. It’s often a bit dusty because of the roads around Rajapur, but we don’t mind it much. We have been here for a long time, and everyone in the village knows us. If someone needs something, they just walk in and ask. We don't use fancy emails or complicated systems for everything. A lot of our business is done just by talking to people face to face. It’s a slower pace of life compared to the big cities, but we prefer it that way. We just keep our heads down and do the work that needs doing. At the end of the day, we close the doors and go home to our families who live right nearby.
