GURU DYEING INDUSTRIES

Down at Plot No. 428 in Sector 25, things stay pretty busy most of the time. This part of Huda, specifically Part-II, is full of industrial units just like Guru Dyeing Industries. If you walk inside, you’ll notice the smell of the work right away. It’s not something you ever really get used to, but it’s part of the trade. We have various vats and machines running throughout the day. The floors are rarely dry, and there is always a bit of steam hanging in the air. We don’t have a big marketing department or anyone to write fancy brochures for us. It’s just us workers and the owners making sure the colors turn out right. Sometimes a batch takes longer than we thought, or a machine acts up, and we just have to deal with it on the fly. It’s loud, and you have to shout a bit to be heard over the equipment. We take our breaks when we can, usually sitting outside for a bit of air. The sector is always full of trucks moving materials, so there’s a lot of dust and noise. We’ve been at this plot for a good bit of time now, and we know the rhythms of the street. It’s hard work, and your hands usually end up stained by the end of the shift. That’s just the life here. It isn't perfect, but we get the jobs finished one by one as they come through the door.
