Sunil Leather Works

Sunil Leather Works is found at 63 Satyanarayan Marg, inside Sindhi Colony. It is a residential area that has a lot of small shops mixed in. We have been here for a good while, working with leather every single day. The smell of leather is the first thing you notice when you walk inside. It is a strong scent, but we have grown to like it over the years. We do a lot of different things, like fixing old shoes, mending belts, or even working on leather jackets when someone brings one in. The shop is full of tools—needles, hammers, and scraps of hide scattered around the workbench. My father taught me how to handle the material, and I am still doing it the same way. It takes a lot of patience to get the stitching right. People in Sindhi Colony know they can bring their broken items to us and we will see what can be done. It is not a fast process, and we don't rush through the work. Sometimes the street gets busy with kids playing or people going to the market, but inside the shop, it stays relatively calm. We have a small stool for customers to sit on while they wait or tell us what they need fixed. It is a humble place, just a room with a lot of leather and old tools, but it provides for the family and keeps us part of the community here.
