Mataji Marbles

Our place is right on Naya Gaon Road, near the Devnarayan Gurjar Hostel at units 7 and 8. It is a busy part of the road, and we have got stacks of marble slabs lined up outside. Working with stone means a lot of heavy lifting and getting used to the fine white dust that covers everything we own. We spend our days helping customers pick out blocks and slabs that might look good in their homes or offices. It is not always easy because everyone has a different idea of what looks right. We do not use any fancy sales talk; we just show you what is on the lot today. The yard can get a bit cramped when a new shipment comes in, and we have to shuffle things around to make room. It is mostly just the sound of the stone cutters and the trucks passing by on the main road. We have gotten to know the guys at the hostel nearby and the other shop owners on this stretch. It is a practical job that keeps us outdoors for the most part. We check the stone for flaws and make sure the sizes are what people asked for. It is just us here, doing the work and keeping the inventory moving as the orders come in from local builders. Sometimes we have to work late to finish a cut, but that is part of the job.
