Suryakiran Engineers

Our place is over in J-90 MIDC, Tarapur. It’s right in the Boisar area of Palghar district. Working in an industrial zone like this means dealing with a lot of dust and the sound of heavy machinery from the units next door. It’s a long way from the quiet parts of Thane. We have a large door that stays open to let the trucks back in when we have deliveries. Inside, the floor is concrete and there are iron racks everywhere holding various engineering components. It’s a gritty kind of place, not somewhere you’d wear a nice suit to work. We spend our days looking at drawings and handling metal parts that usually leave a bit of grease on your hands. The office part is just a small corner with a couple of chairs and a filing cabinet that’s been there since we started. We don't have a fancy website or someone to answer the phones with a scripted greeting. If the phone rings, someone just wipes their hands and picks it up. Lunch is usually eaten together on one of the workbenches because it’s easier than going out. It is a tough environment sometimes, especially when the sun is beating down on the tin roof, but we are used to the rhythm of the industrial estate by now. We just focus on the engineering tasks and making sure everything is built correctly for whoever ordered it.
