We are based out in Pale Boripada, which is near Dahanu in the Thane district. It’s a bit out of the main city, so things move a little slower here, which I personally like. We do contracting and engineering work. Mostly it's small local projects, maybe a house repair or some basic infrastructure stuff nearby. The office is pretty basic. We spend more time out at the sites than sitting behind a desk anyway. My uncle was an engineer, and he taught me a lot of what I know about the trade. The weather here can be quite something during the monsoon, so we have to plan our outdoor work carefully. We have a couple of guys who help with the manual labor and the technical bits. It's not a big corporation or anything like that. Just a local business trying to do honest work for the people around Dahanu. Sometimes we have to travel quite a bit to reach the farther villages. The roads aren't always great, especially after the rains. We keep our tools in a shed out back and try to stay organized, though it doesn't always work out that way. It’s a quiet life for the most part, focusing on one job at a time. People know us by name around here, which makes things easier when we need to get supplies or find extra hands for a project. It is just how we operate every day.
