Our company is based in the Tarapur Industrial Area, which is part of the MIDC zone in Palghar. We are at Plot No. F8 in the Tarapur Complex. Straight Mile Steel Limited is exactly what the name suggests—we work with steel. It is a noisy, hot, and heavy business to be in, but it’s what we know. The air around here is always thick with the sound of machinery and the smell of metal. We don't have a pretty office with carpets and plants. Our space is functional and mostly full of safety gear and technical specs for the steel we handle. Working in an industrial area means we are surrounded by other factories and trucks moving in and out all night. We spend our days making sure the production stays on track and that the quality is what it needs to be for our customers. It’s not the kind of job where you stay clean, but there is a certain satisfaction in seeing the finished product ready to be shipped out. We have a crew that has been with us for years and they know the machines better than anyone. We aren't interested in being fancy; we just want to make sure the steel we produce is solid and that we meet our deadlines without any major disasters. It is hard work, but we are used to the grind.
