Our place is out in Vasai West, specifically in Johova Village. It’s a bit of a trek for some people to get out here to Tamtalao. We are near the Satma Devi Temple, which is a good landmark if you are getting lost. The address says Big Carpentary, which is how people around here know the spot. Sigrun Realties Ltd. has been operating from this corner of Thane for some time. It’s much quieter here than in the city. We spend a lot of our time dealing with paperwork and walking around local plots of land. Sometimes the weather makes it hard to get out to the sites, especially when the monsoon hits hard. The office is pretty basic, just some desks and a lot of maps on the walls. We see a lot of the same local faces coming by to ask about property. It’s a slow process sometimes, dealing with all the rules and regulations. We don’t wear fancy clothes here; mostly just something practical for being outdoors. It can get dusty when the wind blows off the fields. We usually keep the windows open to catch whatever breeze there is. It feels like a small village life even though we are technically a company. We just do our work and go home when the sun starts to set.
