Malabar Cements Ltd.

Malabar Cements Ltd. is located out in Walayar. We are right near the border of Kerala, which is a pretty unique spot to be. You can see the hills from here, and the weather changes quite a bit depending on the season. Our place is large because of the nature of the cement business. It is a bit of a trek to get out here, but we are used to it. The area is mostly industrial, so there are a lot of trucks moving in and out all day long. We’ve been part of this landscape for a long time. It’s not a quiet job, and there is always the sound of machinery in the background. We don't have a fancy lobby or anything like that. It’s a working site through and through. The staff here mostly comes from the nearby villages. We all know the routine and we just get on with it. Sometimes the rain gets really heavy, being so close to the border, and we have to work around that. We don't spend much time worrying about how things look. We just care that the work is getting done. It’s a practical, no-nonsense kind of place. Most of us have been working here for years, so it feels like a second home. It’s a bit dusty and loud, but that’s just how it is.
