Indian Meterials

Our business, Indian Meterials, is right on the Main Road in Cherpullashery. It is a very easy place to find because we have a lot of our stock sitting out front near the road. We deal with all kinds of building stuff, so there is always sand, bricks, or cement around. The yard is usually a bit of a mess with trucks coming in to unload new supplies. We don't have a big fancy showroom or anything like that. It is just a small office with a desk and some plastic chairs where we talk to the customers who come by. Most of them are local builders or people trying to fix up their own homes. The Main Road is always busy with buses and cars, so there is a lot of noise all day long. We get a bit of mud in the rainy season and a lot of dust when it’s dry outside. We have a small crew of guys who do the heavy lifting of the bags and blocks. They are hard workers and they’ve been with us for a long time now. We start the day early and usually stay until the sun goes down and we lock the gates. It’s a very practical business. We don't spend money on things we don't need. We just try to keep enough stock so that when someone shows up with a truck, we have what they are looking for. It’s been our way of doing things here for a long time and we don't plan on changing it.
