Our group, Pragathisheel Unnatt Mewat Vegetables Producer Company Limited, is based at House No 273 in Badka Alimudin. This is in the Nuh district of Mewat, Haryana. It is a very rural area where everyone knows about farming. We focus on vegetables because that is what grows well around here. The office is really just a part of the house where we keep our files and meet with the local vegetable growers. There are a lot of people involved in this, and things can get pretty loud when everyone shows up at once to discuss the season. We don't have any fancy computer systems, just the basics to keep our records straight. The dust in Mewat can be a bit much in the dry season, so we are always sweeping the floor. Being a producer company means we have to be out in the fields a lot too. We don't use big words or try to act like we are from a big city office. We are just local people trying to make the vegetable business work better for everyone in Badka Alimudin. Sometimes the power is out for half the day, so we just sit outside and talk. It’s a slow but steady process. We focus on the crates, the transport, and the harvest times. It’s just plain work every single day, but it is important to the people living here.
