Alfa Unisex Saloon

Our shop is right here at D-12/185 in Rohini Sector 8. If you’re coming from the East Metro Station, it’s just a short walk past Sai Baba Chowk. It’s a busy little corner of the world. We’ve got the usual setup with mirrors, swivel chairs, and that smell of hairspray and talcum powder that sticks to everything. It’s nothing like those expensive malls, but it’s clean and the fans keep the air moving on hot days. We see all kinds of people coming through the door. Some just want a quick trim, while others come in for a full change. There is always a bit of chatter going on, mostly about the weather or how crowded the metro was this morning. We keep a stack of old magazines on the table, though nobody really looks at them much anymore because of their phones. Sometimes it gets really packed on Saturday mornings and people have to wait on the bench outside. We try to work fast but you can't rush a good haircut. My brother helps out with the cleaning and making sure the towels are fresh. It’s a simple life running a saloon in this part of Delhi. We know most of the people who live in the blocks nearby. They stop in to say hello even if they don't need a cut. It feels like part of the neighborhood, which is nice. We just focus on the task in front of us.
