We are based in Pitampura 2, and it’s basically a family-run kitchen. We don't have a big dining room or anything like that. Most of our work is preparing meals for people in the neighborhood who don't have time to cook for themselves. My wife handles the recipes and I do the heavy lifting and the shopping at the local mandi. We have a small counter where people come to pick up their packets of food. The kitchen is pretty tight, and we’re always bumping into each other when it’s busy in the evenings. We use a lot of fresh vegetables that I pick out myself every morning to make sure they are okay. The walls are lined with shelves full of containers and spices. It smells like home cooking in here all day long. We have a small delivery boy who takes orders to the nearby flats on his bicycle. Sometimes the phone rings non-stop and it gets a bit stressful, but we just take it one order at a time. The sign outside is just a simple board we painted ourselves. We don't have a website or anything fancy like that. People just know us because they live nearby and they like the way the food tastes. It’s a lot of hard work and we’re usually exhausted by nine o'clock, but it’s a good living for our family.
