K. Hanzarimal Company

The shop is tucked away in Narayana Mudali Lane. If you know Sowcarpet, you know how crowded it gets around here. K. Hanzarimal Company has been sitting at number 7 for a long time now. It’s not a fancy place, just a regular spot where we get our work done every day. Sometimes the lane is so full of rickshaws and people carrying bundles that it’s hard to move, but that’s just life in this part of town. We’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit over the years. New shops come and go, but we’re still here doing our thing. It gets dusty and loud, especially in the afternoons when everyone is rushing to finish their deliveries. My family started this, and we just kept it going because it’s what we know. There isn’t much to say about us that isn’t obvious when you walk in. There are stacks of items everywhere and we spend most of our time talking to suppliers or checking the stock. It’s a lot of manual work. We drink tea from the stall around the corner twice a day. Usually, someone is shouting about a misplaced receipt or a late truck. It’s not perfect, and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but it works for us. We just try to keep things moving and make sure the orders get out on time. That’s pretty much the whole story of this place.
