Ram Kumar Mahavir Prashad is located at 470/3 in Rampura, right on Lawrence Road. If you know this area, you know how busy Lawrence Road can get with all the trucks and the laborers moving back and forth. It’s a loud, active place and we fit right in. The name on the sign is an old one, belonging to the elders of the family, and we’ve kept it that way out of respect. We’ve been at this Rampura location for years. The building isn't anything to brag about—it’s an old structure that has seen better days, but it’s sturdy and it holds everything we need. We don’t have a fancy office with air conditioning. Usually, the doors are wide open so we can move goods in and out easily. There’s always a lot of dust from the road, so we spend a fair bit of time just trying to keep things tidy. We aren't trying to be the biggest company in the city; we just want to do our work and keep the family name in good standing. Most of the people we deal with are other local business owners who have been on Lawrence Road as long as we have. We talk plainly, do the work, and go home. It’s a simple way of running things, but it has worked for us so far. We just take things one day at a time and keep moving.
