Lala Rameshwar Sweet & Caterers

Lala Rameshwar Sweet & Caterers has two spots in the Rampura area. One is near the Sanatan Dharm Durga Temple at Wz-1 in Phool Bagh, and the other branch is at Wz-31 in Harisingh Park near Kanhiya Nagar. Having two locations keeps us running back and forth quite a bit. My grandfather started the first shop because he loved making sweets, and over time we added the catering side of things to the business. We make all the traditional sweets like laddoos and barfis right there in the back of the shop. People come in all day for a quick snack or to buy a box of sweets for a festival. The catering part is mostly for local weddings or birthdays. Because we are near the temple, we get a lot of people stopping by after their prayers. It is a busy neighborhood with lots of narrow lanes, so delivering big orders can be a challenge sometimes. We use our own rickshaws to move things between the two branches when one shop runs out of something. It is not a corporate setup at all. Most of the people working here are family or have been like family for decades. We don't have a fancy logo or a glossy menu. We just tell people what we can make and we do it. Sometimes the floors are a bit sticky from the sugar syrup, but that is just how a sweet shop is. We just focus on getting the flavors right for our regulars who come in every day.
