Continantal Engineering Corporation

You can find us at C-27 in Sukhbir Nagar. It’s a part of New Delhi that feels very lived-in. There are houses all around us, so it doesn't always feel like a business district. The building is a simple concrete structure. We are on the ground floor, which makes it easy to move things in and out, but we get a lot of dust from the street. We have to wipe down the desks every morning before we start. Continantal Engineering Corporation is the name on the small board by the door. Inside, the lighting is a bit dim, but we have desk lamps for when we need to see the details on our work. There are about six of us here on a regular day. We have a small kitchen area with a sink that leaks a little bit, so we keep a bucket under it. It’s these little things you just get used to. Outside, you can hear the kids playing or the vendors shouting about vegetables. It's a very local vibe. We don't have a receptionist, so if someone knocks, whoever is closest to the door just gets up to see who it is. We spend a lot of time on the phone or looking at spreadsheets. It's a quiet life for the most part. When the sun goes down, the street gets a bit quieter, and we usually wrap things up and head home to our families to eat dinner.
