Aksh Cold Drinks

Working here at Gali No.3 in Block A is always a bit chaotic. Aksh Cold Drinks is located right near the Chetan Bihari Mandir, so there are always people walking by. On festival days, the street gets so crowded you can barely move a bicycle through the lane. We spend a lot of time just organizing the bottles and making sure we have enough stock for the weekend rush. It’s a small space, so we have to stack things carefully. The walls are a bit old and the floor is concrete, which stays cool in the summer heat. I’ve been working here for a few years now. Most of my day is spent dealing with suppliers and unloading the small tempos that come into the gali. It is noisy because of the bells from the temple and the motorbikes, but you get used to it. Sometimes the rain makes the street muddy, and it’s a real pain to move the crates without slipping. We don’t have fancy uniforms or a big office. It’s just us and the drinks. We keep the shutters up from early morning until late evening. My hands are usually cold from handling the ice or the chilled bottles all day long. It’s a simple life, really. We know the other shopkeepers around here, and we all look out for each other. If you are looking for us, just head towards the mandir and turn into the third lane where the sign is.
