Look Saloon

Look Saloon is over at E-36 Nale Kinare, right by the 3rd Pushta in Jagjeet Nagar. If you find yourself in Usmanpur near Nasim Builder, you’re basically there. It’s a busy part of Delhi 110053. The shop isn't much to look at from the outside, just a small door and a sign. But inside, we’ve got everything we need to get the job done. I’ve been cutting hair since I was a teenager, and this shop is my own little space. It’s right near the canal, which is what Nale Kinare means, so you can hear the water sometimes if the traffic isn't too loud. We keep things very basic. There’s a bench for waiting and two chairs for the cutting. I usually work alone, but sometimes a friend helps out on Saturdays. People come in for a simple buzz cut or a shave before a wedding. We don't have a menu of services with crazy names. You just tell me what you want, and I do it. The mirrors have a few spots on them that won't come off, but they work fine. Most of the guys around Usmanpur know me. We talk about local news or the cricket scores while I work. It’s a humble place. We don’t have air conditioning, just a big ceiling fan that works hard. It’s just an honest living in a busy part of the city. I think people like that we are just a regular shop without any fuss.
