King Shad Enterprises

The shop at Gokul Puri C 594 stays busy most days. I open the shutter every morning around ten and the first thing I do is dust off the counters because the road outside gets really dusty. Gokul Puri is a crowded place and our spot at C 594 is right in the middle of all that noise. People walk by all day and some stop in just to ask for directions or see what we have on the shelves today. It’s not a big fancy place with air conditioning or anything like that. We just have our desks, the stock stacked up in the back, and a couple of fans that struggle when it gets really hot in June. Most of the work involves talking to people about what they need and trying to find the right part or item from the boxes. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we just sit outside on the stools for a bit until it comes back. It is a simple way to earn a living and we have known the neighbors for years. The tea seller from across the street brings us chai twice a day and that is usually when we take a break. We don't have a website or anything. If someone needs us, they just come to the shop and we talk face to face. It gets loud with the traffic but you get used to it after a while. We keep things organized as much as we can, though by evening everything is usually a bit of a mess again.
