Chetan Box Company

Chetan Box Company is tucked away over in Kabir Nagar at C-5/34. It’s not a huge place, but we keep it pretty full of cardboard and tape. If you walk inside, you’ll probably smell the glue and the fresh paper right away. We spend a lot of time just measuring things out and making sure the boxes are the right size for whatever people are shipping. It gets a bit messy with all the scraps on the floor, but we try to sweep up at the end of the day. The street outside can get quite narrow, so when the delivery vans come, it’s always a bit of a squeeze. We’ve been at this for a good while, so we don’t need to think too much about the process anymore, it just kind of happens. Some days are slower than others, which gives us time to fix the machines or reorganize the stacks. It’s a family-run kind of vibe here, nothing corporate about it. We don't use fancy computer systems for everything; a lot of it is still written down in big ledgers. People from the neighborhood stop by just to chat sometimes while we’re working. It’s just a honest way to make a living and we like being part of the local community here in this corner of the city.
