Anil Kumar

This is Anil Kumar. I work out of my flat, which is number 113 in Block E-1. It’s in Nand Nagri, over in the East Delhi side. The pin code here is 110093. It’s a very residential area, with lots of families and kids playing and noise all the time. I’ve turned one of the small rooms into my workspace. It’s not a fancy office at all, just a place to sit. I have a desk, a couple of chairs, and my equipment. I’ve been living and working here for a long time. People around the block know me well. I’m not trying to run some giant company with a hundred employees. I just do my bit and try to keep things moving forward. The stairs up to the flat are a bit narrow and steep, so I don't get many visitors, which is fine with me most days. I do most of my work on the phone or just quietly by myself at the table. Nand Nagri is a crowded place, but inside the flat, it’s mostly peaceful enough for me to think. I don't have any staff. It's just me, Anil. I handle everything from the cleaning to the actual work and the billing. Some weeks are very busy and I barely leave the apartment block. Other weeks are much slower. I don’t spend any money on advertising or anything like that. Word usually gets around if you do what you’re supposed to do properly. That’s how it’s always been for me here in Delhi.
