Akash Industries

We’ve been here at A-206 for quite a while now. Street Number 6 in Ambedkar Vihar isn't the easiest place to find if you’re not from around Johripur Extn, but we like the spot. It’s a busy little pocket of the city where everyone is just trying to get their work done without too much fuss. Akash Industries isn't a fancy place with a big glass front or a receptionist. It’s mostly just us, some heavy tools, and the smell of metal or whatever we’re working on that day. Usually, someone has a small radio on, though the signal cuts out when the weather is bad. We start pretty early when the street is still quiet, before the main traffic picks up. It gets really crowded around noon with the delivery carts and people moving stuff back and forth on the narrow road. You’ll see us mostly in our work clothes, probably with some grease on our hands or dust on our boots. We don't spend much time on the computer unless we really have to for an order. Most of the day is spent handling materials or fixing things that didn't go right the first time. It’s just how it is here. If you walk past the shop, you might hear the machines running or just us talking about what needs to be finished by the evening. It’s a simple, practical setup. We don't have much extra space.
