You can find us over at 3684 Chawri Bazar. Being in this part of the city means we are right in the thick of it. The noise from the street is constant, with everyone trying to move goods through the narrow gaps between the shops. It’s me and my brothers running the show here. We don't have any fancy titles or a big management structure. We just show up every morning, pull up the shutters, and start dealing with whatever the day brings. The shop is quite old and has that specific smell of metal and old paper that you only find in Chawri Bazar. Space is very tight, so we have to stack things all the way to the ceiling. Sometimes it feels like the whole place is just one big warehouse with a small desk tucked into the corner. We spend a lot of time on the phone or talking to people who wander in off the street looking for specific items. It’s a very hands-on kind of life. We don’t have a website or anything like that that we look at much; we prefer just talking to folks directly. The electricity goes out sometimes, and we just light a few candles and keep talking. It’s a simple way of doing things, really. We just focus on the work at hand and making sure we have what people need when they ask for it. It's a long day, but we've gotten used to the rhythm.
