Simmi Ground & Processsed Spices

We are located at Plot No. A-292 in Shalimar Village, which is right in the Azadpur area. It is very close to the bus stand, so you can always hear the buses pulling in and out all day long. We spend most of our time here grinding spices. The air is always heavy with the smell of chilies and turmeric. It makes you sneeze sometimes if you aren't used to it. Our little unit is quite dusty because of the machines. We didn't want a fancy office, so we just have a small corner with a table where we keep our books. My nephew helps me with the packing and moving the heavy sacks. We get the raw spices from the big market and then we clean them by hand before putting them through the grinders. The floor is always a bit yellow from the haldi. We don't have any big marketing team or anything like that. We just do the work and sell to the local vendors who know us. Sometimes the electricity goes out in the afternoon, so we just sit outside and wait for it to come back. It’s a simple life. We stay open until late in the evening to make sure all the orders are ready for the next day. It’s hard work, especially in the summer heat, but it’s what we know how to do. Just look for the sign near the bus stand and you will find us.
