Panna Lal Brij Mohan Lal

Chawri Bazar is a place where you really have to know your way around or you will get lost. Our shop Panna Lal Brij Mohan Lal is at 3636 right near the main area of Chandni Chowk. This part of the city is famous for its history and the huge number of people moving through it. We have been here for generations now. The name on the board belongs to my grandfather and his brother. We deal in metals mostly. The shop is narrow and goes back a long way into the building. We have stacks of pipes and metal sheets everywhere you look. It is a bit dark inside because the buildings are so close together. You can hear the sounds of the rickshaw pullers and the general roar of the market all day long. We do not have a website or any modern marketing tools. We just open the shutters in the morning and wait for our regular customers to show up. A lot of our business is done based on old relationships and trust. People come to us because they knew our fathers. We sit on small stools and talk to customers while drinking tea from the local stall nearby. It is a very traditional way of doing things. It is a lot of physical work moving heavy stock in such a tight space but this is the life we know. (247 words)
