Silver Paradise

We are located right in the middle of Dariba Kalan, which is part of the old Chandni Chowk area. If you know Delhi, you know how busy it gets here. Our shop is at number 46 in Amar Market. We mostly deal with silver items, hence the name. It’s a small space, but that’s normal for this part of the city where every inch counts. My family has been in this trade for a long time. We see a lot of people every day, from locals looking for a small gift to tourists who got a bit lost in the narrow lanes. The shop is usually full of stuff, and we try to keep it organized, but it's hard when it’s busy. We spend our time cleaning the silver and talking to the craftsmen who make the pieces for us in their small workshops. Dariba Kalan has a specific smell of old buildings and street food, and we’ve grown to like it over the years. It’s not like those big malls you see nowadays with the air conditioning. Here, you have to push through the crowd to get to us. We don't do much advertising. People usually find us by word of mouth or by just walking past our door. It's a simple way of doing business, but it has worked for us. We just sit here, show our items, and talk to whoever walks in. It gets very hot in the summer.
