Shri Bala Ji Masala

Our small shop is at 137/04 in Ishwar Colony, right here in Kalyan Vihar. We are very close to the Punjab Dry Cleaner, so people usually use that as a landmark to find us. When you walk inside, the first thing you notice is the strong smell of roasted spices. It is a very small place, mostly taken up by bags of turmeric, chili powder, and coriander. We do a lot of the grinding right here, which means there is always a fine layer of spice dust on everything, including our clothes. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. It is just us doing what we have always done. We source the raw spices and then process them so they are ready for cooking. People in Ishwar Colony know us for our basic, honest approach. We don't put any additives in our mixes, just the pure stuff. Sometimes the grinding machine makes a lot of noise and we can't hear the customers properly, so we have to shout a little. We sell to local households and some of the small dhabas nearby. It is hard work and the spice dust can make your eyes sting after a long day, but it is a good way to make a living. We keep our packaging very simple because the quality inside is what really matters to the people who buy from us.
