Our place is at 2641, Naya Bazar. If you’ve ever been to Naya Bazar, you know it’s a crowded mess most of the time. There are people carrying huge sacks of grain on their backs and rickshaws shouting at everyone. Shree Nath Bhog Overseas Llp is right in the middle of all that noise. The building is old, and the stairs are steep, but it’s where we do our business. We deal with overseas stuff, but our day-to-day is very local. We spend a lot of time on the phone or checking samples of what’s coming in. The air always smells like raw wheat and spices. It’s a very busy atmosphere. Sometimes we don’t even have time to eat lunch until four in the afternoon because the market moves so fast. We don’t have any fancy marketing people. It’s just us and the records we keep in big ledgers and some on the computer. The fans on the ceiling are old and they creak, but they keep the air moving. We’ve known the other shopkeepers on this block for years. We help each other out when someone’s delivery is late or the rain starts coming down suddenly. It’s an honest way to spend the day. We don't try to be anything we aren't. We just work here and try to keep the business going in this old part of the city.
