Shanker Lal Shri Ram Exp Imp Spice Rice

The business is called Shanker Lal Shri Ram Exp Imp Spice Rice and we are over at Naya Bans 4101. It is a bit of a long name for a place that mostly just deals with heavy bags of rice and spices. This part of the city is always crowded with traders and there is a lot of shouting and horns honking all day long. Inside the shop, it is filled with big jute bags. If you walk inside, the smell of black pepper and cardamom is very strong. Since we do exports and imports, I spend a lot of my time on the phone or dealing with stacks of paperwork on my desk. It is a lot of work making sure the weights are exactly right and the quality is what it should be. The warehouse part gets quite hot in the summer months but we have some old metal fans that help a little bit. I do not have a fancy showroom or anything to show off. It is just a working office and a place to store the goods before they move on. My desk is usually a mess of samples and old receipts. We have been in this location for a long time, so most of the other traders around here are like old friends. It is hard physical work moving these sacks around every day but it keeps us busy and the day goes by fast.
