Saurabh Enterprises is located in Teliwara, which is one of those old parts of Delhi where the lanes are very narrow. Our address is 384, Gali Mata Wali. If you try to bring a big vehicle here, you’re going to have a hard time. Most of the stuff comes in on handcarts or small rickshaws. We’ve been in this street for a long time. The shop is small and packed from floor to ceiling with stock. It’s a bit dark inside, but we know exactly where everything is kept. We sell all kinds of daily items and hardware. It’s the kind of place where you can find things that the big stores don't carry anymore. We don't have a mission or a vision; we just open the shutters every morning and wait for the customers to come in. The neighborhood is very loud with people shouting and bells ringing from the nearby temples. It’s a lot of work keeping track of everything in such a tight space. We don't use computers for everything; some of our records are still kept in those big red registers. It’s a traditional way of doing business that still works for us. We are just a small family-run enterprise trying to make a living in the heart of the city. We appreciate the regulars who have been buying from us for decades. It is a busy life, but it feels right being here.
