You can find us right above the Subzi Mandi on the first floor near the Clock Tower. Being at 925 Subzi Mandi means it is always noisy outside with the vegetable sellers and the crowds. It’s a very old part of town, so the building has its quirks, like stairs that are a bit steep and narrow hallways. At Samtech Garment Machines, we spend our days looking at sewing machines and motors. The space is filled with tables and half-taken-apart equipment. It's not a showroom where everything is shiny; it's more like a workshop where things actually happen. We have stacks of manuals and boxes of needles everywhere. Sometimes it feels a bit cramped, but we know where everything is kept. The light coming in from the windows over the market is actually pretty good for seeing the small parts inside the machines. We usually have the radio playing in the background while we work. People from the garment shops around the area drop in all the time to ask about a part or see if we have a specific foot for their machine. It’s a busy life being near the Clock Tower. We take our lunch breaks when the market quietens down a little, though it never really stops out there. We just keep moving along with our work, fixing what needs fixing and keeping the machines running for everyone else.
