We are quite close to the Red Fort, so you can always see the tourists and the historic walls nearby. The market itself is an old place, full of history and a lot of noise. Our shop, number 591, is one of many in these winding rows. It’s a small space, but we manage to fit everything we need inside. The energy of Old Lajpat Rai Market is something else; it’s constant shouting, moving carts, and people looking for things. We’ve been here long enough that the chaos feels normal to us now. We don't have a modern showroom or anything like that. It’s just a traditional market shop where we store our goods and talk to people who come by. The proximity to the Red Fort makes it easy to give directions, even though the market itself is a maze. Every morning we unlock the heavy doors and start the day among the hundreds of other sellers. It’s a tough environment sometimes, especially in the heat, but it’s where we belong. We just keep our heads down and do the work that needs doing in our little corner of the market at shop 591. It is a busy, real place to work.
