Satya Narayan Jai Prakash is right on Naya Bazar Main Road, at 4001-A. It’s a place that’s been around for a while, tucked into the middle of all that grain market noise. You’ll mostly find us dealing with bags of stuff and keeping an eye on the trucks as they come in. The office isn't much to look at, just some old chairs and a lot of registers that we use to track what’s coming and going. It gets pretty dusty here because of all the heavy vehicles moving on the road outside. We spend our mornings drinking tea and talking to the loaders about what needs to move next. It isn't a high-tech setup. We still do a lot of things the old way, writing notes by hand and remembering faces from years ago. The traffic outside is constant, and sometimes the noise makes it hard to focus, but that’s just how it is in this part of town. We don’t try to be anything we aren’t. It’s just a regular wholesale spot where the work is heavy and the days are long. Some days we are done early, and other days the shipments are late and we stay until the market starts to go dark. We’ve seen the neighbors change over the years, but we are still here doing the same things we’ve always done. It’s just about getting the work finished and coming back again tomorrow.
