We set up shop at D/258 on Main Road Number 2 in West Vinod Nagar. It is a good spot because everyone passes by on their way to work or the market. We work on water purifiers. It is a lot of spare parts, pipes, and membranes lying around the shop floor most of the time. It is not the cleanest looking place, but we know where everything is kept. People bring in their machines when they stop working right, or they ask us to come over to their homes. West Vinod Nagar has its share of water issues, so there is always something to do. We do not have any fancy uniforms. Just plain clothes that usually end up with some water stains by noon. My nephew helps me out with the heavy lifting and the deliveries. We have a small bench outside where we sit when the shop gets too stuffy. The traffic on Main Road No 2 never really stops. You get used to the noise after a few months. We use a local rickshaw guy to move the bigger units if someone does not have a car to carry them. We do not try to act like a big company. We just fix what is broken and make sure people have decent water to drink. Sometimes we stay open late if a neighbor has a leak.
